Morning at the river

A dreamy sky over the swollen Charles this morning. It was early, and I took Charlie out before waking up Wave and helping him to get ready for school. No time for a swim. Hopped in my car and drove to Connecticut with Brittany to see my aunt and uncle. There was sweetness and challenge in our visit. It’s hard to see them struggling. But I am grateful to have this chance, with my brother and sister, to express our love and concern and care for them. Grateful that they trust us. Grateful to have such an amazing amount of effort and expertise and energy with my brother and sister. How happy they were to see Brittany and to give her some hugs. Home for a chance to send my manuscript off to Vanessa for her feedback. And then off to pickle with family and friends. I am very tired, though. And soothed by the sight of this lovely picture at the river this morning.
