#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

The morning brook

When I am on my skis it’s hard to get pictures. Once my hands get cold in this weather it’s hard to warm them back up. I was in quite a doldrums on my ski this morning. That’s okay. My mind was not detaching from things bothering me, even in the pleasure of being in the fresh air. Still, it’s always refreshing to keep my routines. And I also swam. And that improved my mood, as it always does. I am overtired. There have been a lot of chores this week around the house. It’s also January. Feeling cold. Low clouds. Icy surfaces. The ice on the brook I like to look at. The ice on the steps and driveway makes me frustrated. It’s good to slow down, though. Walk carefully, mindfully, over the icy surfaces. It’s also the January news which is maddeningly awful. I successfully revised a poem. I enjoyed facilitating my grandmother writing group. I am enjoying being in bed ready for sleep.
