#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Charles River, Trestle Bridge

Morning after storm, sleek, very bright. New snow on the thin ice. It’s very fresh and sweet outdoors, so Charlie and I enjoy our walk. Then a swim. I have written my weekly writing prompt and blog before going out. It’s evening now, and I have not returned to my writing desk after all. I wanted time with my daughter, running errands, having tea, getting pedicures. For my other daughter I made lentil soup; for Frank meatballs. I like cooking on a Sunday in January, food for giving warmth and love. It’s a cozy Sunday. Here, and not in L.A. We are all thinking about the troubles that are severe and traumatic for all the people in the Los Angeles area, aren’t we? I have a good chat with my friend who is in Belgium and I am offered a facetime peek into a sweet Sunday afternoon in their apartment, with grown children, and most special of all, a sleeping newborn. It’s quite a special experience to be drawn in for these wonderful moments while I’m walking under a striking blue sky on the East coast of the U.S. on the Charles River. I have spent all my energy tonight. And still need to submit a poem. Fortunately, I have one in the bank.
