#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

It’s dark and a light rain tonight, gently falling. Very pleasant and refreshing. I woke up to the sound of Brittany barking this morning and jumped up to let her out before she had an accident. Discovered she was actually outside, barking to get in! Someone must have let her out last night. She wasn’t upset. Just happy to get her breakfast. Frank home very late so this morning we both had coffee and plenty of time to talk before he left for tennis, and I left for Farm Pond. Twenty-five years ago my brother founded what became the annual Farm Pond Perimeter swim. This morning, fifty six of us met on the beach and swam the perimeter of the lake together. Franci had told me she wasn’t going to swim this morning after all (even though she had done the perimeter swim on her own earlier in the week.) But she came to watch me do it which was sweet. I felt terrific and was very pleased with my swim. Grateful to still be swimming it with my brother, too. Frank and I took my son and daughter out to a casual lunch, and then he and I had a long nap. A lovely Saturday nap with no need to set an alarm or get up for appointments. Very luxuriously, I slept. Then, dinner with friends and the women’s tennis final of the US Open. It’s nice to have Frank home.
