#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

A hike at Wasque, Chappaquiddick

The air was soft, sky a little cloudy. This morning my bike beckoned. Road through the moss-lined trails, through meadows, down dirt roads, and ended up at Wasque, a Trustees of Reservations property along the coast where I hiked with Liz. Walked for awhile along the sand and the tide pool and felt very happy, listening to two excellent poetry podcasts that were immensely stimulating: The Poetry for All Podcast discussing phenomenal poems by Diane Seuss and Philip Levine. On my return, the house was quiet for a few hours and I was able to get a lot of work done, sending my newsletter. Hooray! I got so much done I was very relaxed all afternoon when we went in the Bronco out to the beach. Wave back with us––pure joy, talking hilariously about everything. On the ride out to the water through the dunes, Franci and I acted out rollicking versions of Billy Goats Gruff and Hanzel and Gretel, which he loved. Family time all afternoon and evening, everyone relaxed. Star lit sky after a ride to Oak Bluffs tonight. I am sanded and salted and sugared in bliss.
