#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

This morning I felt he might not get up and out for his lesson. I got him to the breakfast table, and to his egg. And he said, “I’m scared of my lesson.” And yet, we went. And when we got to the pool he jumped right in and started swimming. So there. He is making great progress. After I led my Israeli group, we all went to Farm Pond for a swim––his mother and my daughter and Frank too. The holiday began. And my nephew came for a swim too. I took a good swim around the island––almost banged my head into my friend’s dock-well, the one that used to be hers. Then, despite my tiredness, we took Wave to fireworks in Needham. Crowds, noise, toys, fun. And we waited so long for them to start! Of course, it was worth it. His delight and appreciation, and the sense that he’ll always remember the fireworks. Both Wave and I asleep on the ride home.
