#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

A decent sleep. The sound of the call to prayer at 4:30 a.m. which I enjoyed. And woke up to my alarm at 6:30 because I wanted to walk across the street from the hotel to walk the sidewalk along the Bosphorus. Which I did. It was already very sunny and clear, and there was no traffic. Men and boys, shirtless on the rocks at the edge of the water, fishing, swimming, cookies eggs for breakfast, talking. Some runners, some walkers. Few women. Lots of oleander in bloom everywhere. Gulls. Trash from last night. I walked for about forty-five minutes, and then Frank was up and we had a quiet, lovely breakfast at the hotel overlooking the Bosphorus from the terrace. Nice to get this alone time. Then, gradually, our friends woke up and we ate breakfast in shifts of nice visits by the pool. and then I went into the pool and did some laps. Then we had a group tour with a guide, [a long walk, two of our friends tripped on the street, but are okay] and we visited two historic mosques, as well as the famous cystern
