#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Rain for the garden upon waking, and rain throughout the day. I leave early, after a check of the garden, a walk to the brook, a swim. I drive to Connecticut to see my uncle. It’s Memorial Day, and he served in South Korea in the army. He arrived the day after the war ended and completed his service driving an excavator to build or clear something, I can’t remember. He is sleeping, doesn’t wake during my visit, but I tell him everything anyway. Tonight, as I took a tour of the gardens when I got home, I saw a bunny hopping across the front yard. Fine. Stay in the front yard, bunny. I shared my newest poem this morning and got helpful feedback. Awake at 5:00, I am ready for rest. And so grateful I made it to see my uncle today.
