#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Happy Birthday, Franci

I wake for April 10––day my youngest was born. I have bought her a bouquet of flowers, last night, and I make her favorite, crepes. I leave them cooked and waiting for her in the kitchen with the flowers and go off for my swim. Yes! My wonderful swim. I swim my mile and feel very satisfied. When I get home, she and I take Charlie for walk, and then I have group, and then another group. Then I give her one of my presents. I drag the massage table up from the basement, set it up in a quiet room, and give her a birthday massage, an hour of deep tissue and music and relaxation. I love to give my kids massages for their birthdays. It’s a chance for me to give them something they really appreciate, and for me, I get to spend the quiet time thinking about how lovely and special it is for me to brought this amazing person into the world. Then, off to dinner, the entire family, including my grandson and he behaved really well in the restaurant. Home for dessert: her favorite, an ice cream cake, and presents and we give her our appreciations, our birthday ritual. My uncle was admitted to the hospital after another trip to the ER last night. To have his heart evaluated. I am tired and grateful at the end of this day and just remembered I need to send my poem tonight for workshop tomorrow.
