#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Teamwork. By nine we are at my aunt and uncle’s in Easthampton, helping them deal with their confusion about leaving. Me and my sister and her husband talk them through the move, and my aunt’s sister and niece arrive to drive them to their new home in assisted living on Connecticut while we pack. I will be taking Brittany, their elderly Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with me. Tonight, I was home by 7:30 and I am quite tired, and also grateful for this special and challenging day supporting them. We left them with smiles and hugs. Before we showed them their new apartment we unpacked everything and set it up. My brother spent the day keeping them occupied while we accomplished all this. My brother has a broken rib and my sister has a stomach bug. But it got done, and they were very grateful. Brittany was an angel all day during this transition, and my daughter went shopping for new beds, leashes, dishes, etc. to be ready to receive her. Now she is up grooming her while Wave is beside me before bed. A new and necessary beginning. We anticipate many challenges ahead. But the toughest challenge has been met. I am grateful for our team effort.
