#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Sun, Water, Plants

Spring freeze. Some ice on the brook, the very edges, forming from this remarkable cold and wind. I walked and then had a short swim. A non-stop day of activity, start to finish. Both dogs to vet first thing this morning for follow ups on eyes, ears, vaccinations. Everybody healthy again, and Brittany lost a pound of the eight she must lose, so that was good news too. She’s a joy to have around. Today I packed, worked on prepping for my manuscript and the ordering and decisions I will make this weekend on my retreat. A long talk with a dear friend. Cooking, cleaning, laundry, comforting, helping, listening, and collaborating. Watered plants. My new biography of Eudora Welty arrived in hard cover, and I read the last page of the massive Carver biography last night, so it’s just in time. And I am listening, on Audible, to Eudora Welty’s Pulitzer Prize winning short novel, The Optimist’s Daughter. I may not bring the Welty biography, though, as I need to focus on poetry, and I shall. A night when my legs are so tired they twitch and ache. Oh, sleep. Oh~another selection of one of my images for literary magazine cover tonight! Maple wings for spring.
