#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Second day of spring. It’s a cranky morning, but I go for my swim. And I feel like I don’t want to be in the pool during my swim, but I stay, because I am in the pool and my job in the pool is to be a swimmer and swim. Be here now. And I discipline myself and really try to be in the water, in the stroke, conscious of each breath, of the process of holding breath and the relief––the pleasure––of taking a breath. And it works. I have a great swim. No time to walk Charlie, I have my writing group. And then my Israeli group. Groups this week focusing on the theme of renewal, for spring, of course. And it’s a wonderful theme to be working with and on. After my groups I have a chance to consult with my daughter and my husband, separately, on work issues they want to talk over and I’m glad I have the time to give them. Late afternoon, play in the yard with Wave, and lots of chasing and running. The river is dark and reflecting the clouds. Wave throws sticks to Charlie and it’s good to be outdoors as the light hangs on.
