#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
A lost hour. But a good night’s sleep. A lovely swim. A long walk with Charlie in the wet and quiet woods. It’s not raining, it’s not windy, as weather predicted. The river and wetlands are quite high and I have to avoid certain trails. But there is lots to see and appreciate. A relaxing and embodied quiet that fills me up. I begin to think about a pleasant weekend soon when we will start the yard clean up! It’s time to think about what might be grown that’s new. What plants might I put in? In the fall, spring seems impossibly far. And now we have turned the clocks back into longer days. I revise a poem today for workshop tomorrow about picking blackberries with my grandson. I make some submissions of poems and images. I’m pleased to have an acceptance of two images by a journal, and one of the images is a favorite of mine from Playa Pelada, an abstract, from my daily walk in Costa Rica. Another long and necessary nap, and then we have a family dinner––first time in three weeks that we have all been here together. Everyone home from trips and activities. And tonight I am relieved to get three baskets of laundry folded, because passing them in the baskets for days wears on me. Done! No word from my aunt and uncle today; and Brittany is relaxing and settling in with everyone.
