#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

My grandson, eating his delicious vegetable soup, tells me via Facetime tonight that he does not understand why we are taking such a long vacation. No explanation will solve the problem of him missing us and seeing our faces in sunshine and our bodies in bathing suits and the bright blinding sun in our eyes. Soon enough, we will return to him, eagerly. Tonight I am in a quite pleasant state of drowsiness. My morning walk, a lovely time to be in the tide pools taking pictures. I rose earlier than usual, 5:00 a.m., to work on poems before my walk. Later, we all went out for breakfast before I had a meeting with Vanessa on my poetry manuscript. We played pickle in the round robin at the tennis center again today in the scorching heat––at least it was for me. But I had a great time. Even as the oven inside me cooked. I am happy to be building up my endurance and I played decently. I really loved my meeting with Vanessa; and I made a tentative plan to take a writing retreat for myself in March to do some final work on the putting it together. My eyes are shutting now on another day where I got to see the orange glove dip into the sea as I swam in it.
