The Green

Frank’s energy amazes me. He dives right in––cleaning & organizing the spaces Franci and Will have left. I find him after his meeting going strong. I have been at my computer revising and revising, feeling as if I’m getting somewhere with my poem. When I feel satisfied for the moment I join Frank and we work on putting things in order. Our space is reclaimed. And as much as I miss them, it feels really good to have the space and the clutter and overflow of their belongings gone. I managed to find an hour to go over to them in the afternoon and help organize the kitchen, and they were grateful. Then home to prep dinner and get Wave. The one who is missing them even more than me is Wave. We drove him there after dinner, after he got home from is weekend. He was happy to see them and sad to leave. Frank put up the reindeer in the yard and tried to put up holiday lights and couldn’t find them. We have had a majorly busy weekend. We’re happy and tired. And he travels again. Kind of scary how little time is left before Christmas–especially when Frank will be gone, as he often is, the week before the holiday. I made chicken quesadillas and brought some to Will and Franci and they were eating pizza leftover from the ones Frank bought for the movers yesterday and were glad to see fresh food. I swam today, a lovely swim with the plants and the sun and did not walk as I am using all my steps for moving everything in and out and around.
