#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
We have such a beautiful library in Sherborn. Newly renovated, fresh and beautifully designed. It was a pleasure tonight to present a program in the Community Room––hosting the members of my Charles River Writing Collective giving a reading from their works in progress. Each of them read wonderfully. It was a lovely night. Morning began with the view of the foliage from my bedroom window. More warmth and summery weather, sun and confusion of what to wear. Wave home today so we had a fabulous wrestling match and pillow fight after I gave him breakfast in my bed. What a way to start the day! Then, compost day, to the garden, and I didn’t walk, but cared for my indoor plants, watering and trimming and fussing over them which is so relaxing when I have the time. And I swam my laps. Frank away for the day. Oh, Fudgy. Such an amazingly friendly rooster! Sits on the front step, comes up and watches what we’re up to through the glass door. He wants to come in. I almost want to let him in. He is the only one of the family who has to live entirely outdoors.
I bought Alexei Navalny’s memoir, “Patriot,” published, posthumously, today. Feeling grief about the loss of this remarkable and brave man. As a couple, it’s unbelievable how brave he was, and how brave his wife, Yulia Navalnaya is to endure the loss and continue to find ways to make his life meaningful.
