#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

In the wetlands

He says scrambled, not dipping, eggs this morning. And off to school he goes with his breakfast packed to go, and his juice and his hot chocolate, and I won’t see him again until Sunday night. I go off to the pool, another hour swim, delicious, and home for a quick, very quick walk in the wetlands with Charlie as I have a client. I do not achieve all I want today, to work on the manuscript. I try, but there are many distractions. And time to process and not feel pressure. I was upset by something, and then did my best to re-focus, and then I let go and went off to enjoy some errands. Some days, that’s what needs to be done. We had to cancel playing pickle for a variety of reasons, and had a pleasant night at home instead. It’s raw outside, this weather. Wet and cold and under a blanket by the fire with ice cream after dinner was exactly where I needed to be. I did work a bit on the rewriting, into prose, a poem that needs revision. Even getting a little bit done today is enough.
