#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Sore, tired, and still up early. It’s so cool out! I sit on our renewed screen porch with Charlie and enjoy the summer morning that feels a bit like fall, even though it’s still July. Then, instead of a walk, I get straight to work on the weeding and pruning and clearing. Nice to work in the not so hot morning. After a couple of hours, Frank calls on the say home from tennis to see if I want to join him and our son for breakfast. Going out to breakfast isn’t my favorite, because I’ve already eaten and it’s almost lunch time. But it’s a great chance to get time with my son to chat. So, I leave my yard projects, and, yellow jacket nest I have just poked (and got stung at least five times!) indeed, we do have long conversation and I feel very connected and glad to have had this time. Then I am back in the yard. Raking, weeding and then planting my new garden next to the outdoor shower. I want an aromatic garden that will be a cheerful addition to the yard by the shower. Hydrangea, bee balm, Mexican mint, purple sage. I am exhausted and satisfied. Now, for a swim. Yikes, I’m sore and tired. Bu I don’t want to miss my swim. It’s fresh and cool in the water, a little ripple of wind. I take my usual swim but my body is quite sore and tired. Then, we have the nicest dinner. Everyone for a meal Frank and I prepare on the deck. I’m sore all over, but I stroll to the river. A horned owl calls to another horned owl. I wade through the swollen river. The sun is going down on a very lovely summer day.
