#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Farm Pond Dragonfly

I am reminded of our time last winter and the previous winter in Nosara: I wake up and my friend Liz and Frank are already up having coffee. They are on the porch. Frank has to leave on business. And I have the day to enjoy my visitor and daughters. We walk and the woods are wet, the trails are flooded here and there in water, the wetlands are full. We are retracing steps of so many walks of years past. We wade through water along the way. Soon, a swim at Farm Pond, with my daughters too, and Wave, some play on the beach and a beautiful swim around the island. Today was a very special day, start to finish. Dinner tonight, a small dinner with writers and my heart is warmed with our wonderful conversation, opening and opening and deepening. Plus, a delicious meal with help from my youngest who joined us. I do think July is my favorite month of the year. A heavy rain blew up in the late afternoon––I never made it into my garden. Ran through parking lot puddles to go to grocery store, returned home pleasantly watered down. I love summer rain.
