#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Wake from a fun and fascinating night of dreaming and a long and deep night of sleep. No rush getting up and out. Charlie. He keeps making me backtrack for him on our walks! I will swim later. It’s muggy out, but pleasant in the sticky woods. I don’t stop in the garden until a late afternoon watering. The lettuce is pretty much used up; only a baby cucumber, and one zucchini, a few fairly ripe tomatoes. The garden isn’t desperately dry after all this rain, but I dampen it after a hot day. Now, I must take my leave and hope the garden is well tended in my absence. The weeds, all the weeds will have to wait. They have me beat. I have a busy day, my Ukrainian support group, a client, a hair appointment, a swim before hair appointment at Farm Pond. I swam to my friend’s old dock and back and hurried back up the steps to get to my appointment on time with a quick change out of my wet suit in the car! I have had poem and photo acceptances recently. And an email about a poem accepted some months ago, letting me know that it will be published in July 2024! I read the email a couple of times to realize it’s a year from now! I laughed. I love this poem and look forward to seeing it in print in this journal––next year! A very special Play Lab tonight. I am packed. I got to rumble and toss in yoga and wrestling with Wave before bed. Leaving is always always a tug of the heart to stay home. And still, I am looking forward to being at IWWG too on a new adventure.
