#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
I love this picture of Frank that our friend took as we arrived for our boat in Croatia. This isn’t our actual boat. They line the boats up at the docks, so you pass through other boats to get to the one you’re on. Today is Frank’s actual birthday and this is a perfect picture of him, full of joy and anticipation. What rain poured down today all day, a real definitive soaking. This didn’t stop me from my swim. I enjoyed splashing through the parking lot in my flip flops through inches of water in the warm summer air. I wondered if I would be the only one in the pool, but they had not canceled the kid lessons or the swim team practice and there was lots of activity. The water was very pleasantly warm and I had a good, long swim. Then, Charlie wanted to be outdoors on his walk too, so I tool him out for a bit into the very wet woods. Then, to work! I’ve been mostly off for almost three weeks! It felt so good to sit down at my computer and dive into work and clients that i love working with. The house was busy with people, everyone indoors for the rainy day, but I was able to get a lot done and I felt great. Tonight, poetry critique with my pals, and I didn’t bring a poem, but I felt the pulse of inspiration from sharing thoughts on their fine poems. Best part of the day was still to come: a pre-bed yoga wrestling and rough-housing with my grandson, lots of wild laughter and giggling and tousling, and then, to cool down and calm down and settle down for bed, two stories. I told Jack and the Beanstalk, which was a bit too wild, running from the giant and all, then closed with a calming version of Goldilocks and the three bears. Whew! In the late afternoon I put on my garden shoes and crossed the soaking grass to the garden where I untwisted some very fine zucchini and yellow squash from the vine and seasoned and cooked it and enjoyed it immensely. And there is plenty more to come.
