#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Evening rain

It’s lovely to have the energy for a long walk in the May woods. But I miss Papa Mallard. He has done his duty and moved on. No mallard sightings at all today. No lady slippers either! My daughter calls, driving the special one to daycare, and I hear him in the background: “Are they tomatoes ripe?” I have my Wednesday morning writers and I’m pleased to have energy for that as well. I always feel better when I am facilitating writing workshops. After lunch a nice nap. I think that we will need to water the garden. But by early evening clouds move in. Then, a long, lovely downpour. We will not water after all. And no, the tomatoes are not yet ripe. Tonight I have a late meeting on my manuscript with Vanessa, and this gives me energy after all, even though I was thinking it was too late to concentrate. I wanted to make sure to see her before I travel next week so that I can work on the manuscript while away. Our trip begins to take shape; we are in the details, we are really going. By Sunday morning, we will be there. Bless the tomatoes in our absence.
