In the morning brook

. . . Every happiness is the child of a separation
it did not think it could survive.  And Daphne, becoming
a laurel,
dares you to become the wind.

Excerpt from Sonnets to Orpheus, Part Two, XII, by Rainer Maria Rilke

Another night of old boyfriend dream––two nights in a row. During my swim, lapping back and forth, back and forth, I am in a rhythm and I have plenty of head space for thinking, if I feel like thinking. And reflecting on the dream I put the pieces together of why this dream two nights in a row. The sense of it comes. Today it got warm, up to 72! But I didn’t get much outdoor time, except for my walk with Charlie. Still, signs of days to swim in the near future, outdoors. Today I worked on book promotion. Working with my assistant is a true pleasure. She has the most positive attitude about being helpful that I have every encountered!
