#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Yesterday’s Rain

Yesterday’s rain on the river’s grassy border. It’s damp and also drenched in the loveliest of ways. It’s calm outdoors on my walk in ways it wasn’t indoors, in the jumble and frazzle of a Monday morning, helping household members get out the door to start the new week. I had my bathing suit on, but didn’t end up swimming. I decided I needed to be outdoors taking pictures and listening to the woodpeckers and birds. It was the right choice. I dreamed, just before waking up, a drama of having my computer stolen, which was quite a stressor to experience, and yet a blessing to wake up to its actual presence beside my bed, just where I’d left it. This was a calamity I was hugely happy to avoid! When I walked back into the yard from my walk I caught sight of the bluebird of happiness on a branch.. Every Monday morning should start with a bluebird sighting. I had poetry workshop, a client, and then errands, and I was ready to be off the computer, running into stores with returns, picking up an item left for alterations. Exchanging recently purchased shoes for a preferred pair. Then, super market, groceries, even this was something I had energy for today. I had a burst of energy, unpacked groceries, cleaned up some messes that have been on my list. Ah! It’s so good to have extra energy. A productive day! And the April woods still singing to me, wet and lovely, comforting and full of delight tonight.
