Yes, it poured, and it was quite a mess out there. But, after a great night’s sleep, after supervising the pancake making, after (not) being fooled by my youngest daughter with a cup of coffee spiked with salt that she thought she could get me to drink, because she is a mischievous April Fool’s trickster, after all that, I went out, just me and Charlie, and we had a delicious soaking on our walk through woods and wetlands. I really enjoyed taking my pictures of the wet world, instead of a swim today. Well, I swam later––but that was in the kiddie pool with the special one. It’s the season of skunk cabbage, one of my favorites. Despite the rain, a happy day. Indoors, the family around, everyone relaxing near the fire, playing, napping, chatting. I got a lot of work done, actually, I am immersed in working on my press kit materials for the book with my assistant (!). Tonight, a lovely dinner round the fire that I did not cook. Tomorrow, my virtual book launch with my publisher, and friend Jenny, and my daughter Franci, and I am going to show the video. April is here with all its wonderful April joys.
