#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

I’m in a bubble of the brook

Up early, into the pool, a great swim, a great short walk with Charlie. I find two pictures I really like, especially the one where I see my reflection standing in the middle of the bubble in the brook. I have to be at the high school by 9:45. It’s only four minutes away, the high school I graduated from, the high school my children graduated from. I’ve been invited to speak at “Seminar Day,” where I’ve presented before. I’m leading three workshops on Writing From Your Photo Stream. I’ve had very good success with this workshop with teens, especially in presenting it for Mass. Poetry. I’m assigned to present in Room 121 where I had history class. I’m glad to be there, and two of the classes go well; one class is distracted by the wasted boys, the group of friends that seem like they’ve just gotten stoned. Oh well. I deal with the as best as I can. And one of them writes a very good draft of a poem. Tonight is a sweet dinner. Frank and I host our Ukrainian friend and our friends who she has stayed with these past five months for a celebratory dinner. She is moving into the next phase of her American life, and it’s going to be a great one. I’m so happy for her. It’s such a special happy celebration of happiness she deserves.
