Charlie at the morning brook

“It is a happy talent to know how to play.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson

Awake at 4:30 a.m. to drive my daughter to the airport. I don’t mind. It’s a bit slippery, but the roads are fine. I go straight to the pool for an early swim. It’s a very busy pool; not tranquil as yesterday was. But I am glad to be in the pool for the eighth day in a row. I go home to get Charlie out. It’s so lovely and snowy and wonderldandy everywhere. The rest of the day is play. I have the day with the special one. The very whole day to do exactly as we please. We go back to the pool so he can have some time there too. There is outdoor play and indoor play, meals and snacks and treats and yoga and books and Billy Goats Gruff and Goldilocks and Make Way for the Ducklings and Go Dog Go. A perfect day with banana pancakes before bed. Just because.
