#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Snowy morning

White world. Early swim. Charlie waits at home. Slippery drive. Wet, heavy, slushy snow. In the pool, doing my laps, I’m a bit sludgy. At first. Then, my energy just picks up, all without trying. I swim a mile I didn’t expect to swim. In the pool, the big pool, alone. School vacation week. And my daughter who works in a school is off, like old times. February vacation. We are having extra special time together this week. Tea party, the two of us. Long talks, catching up, making plans. And then we get to review the recordings from yesterday, and she likes them, and I like them too. Very good footage. The project excites her and me too. In the grocery store a man at the fish counter flirts with me while I am buying salmon and I respond playfully to his playful physicality. He is blocking the fish and I go in for the dodge. A brief and fun late afternoon moment of mutual spontaneity. Also, he likes my haircut.
