#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

No walk at all today! So I made a collage of these favorites from this last fall. Winter solstice almost here. And I have had to cancel the party for Wave and his friends that we were planning for tomorrow night, where we hoped to have pizza and a campfire and a story in the almost winter night. We still have no power, and it’s not projected to be turned on until late tomorrow night. As usual, Frank is figuring out ways for us to be warm and comfortable with a borrowed generator at work in the yard, giving us access to phone chargers. I managed, also to make dipping eggs, hot chocolate and croissant for Wave, and coffee in a French press for me and his mother. I played pickle to sub for a friend at the club, and so I didn’t swim until after that. Then, somehow Charlie never got his walk as I didn’t want to get wet in the woods and not be able to warm back up. We all managed to work a bit. The dishes are piled high in the sink with no water to wash. Still, so much to be grateful for. And late this afternoon, got a festive treat to attend a tea party with a Yankee swap at my dear friend’s house, an annual tradition. I stood and warmed myself by the fire in her beautifully decorated living room and drank fresh brewed tea at the table in her mother’s various tea cups and we had lovely conversation. There are treats in the season to be enjoyed. The clean up from the storm is taking its time, and the river is taking new shape.
