#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
It’s fall on the river. Slight changes in the foliage. A sunny morning and cool. I feel the sense of a busy day ahead, the tension of it; and then I am walking and I am aware of the pleasure of being outdoors and I am centering and tuning into the present moment. I go through the meadow. I have a client call and it works well to walk during this call. I listen and attune to her so well in this landscape of milkweed and goldenrod and grapevine and wetlands. Later, time spent with Vanessa on my newest poetry manuscript. So fruitful and stimulating. I am in the role of receiving. It’s nice to be in this receiving chair! Tonight I lead the Journal of Expressive Writing Open Mic with Artress Bethany White featuring with her book of essays.
“What I still wrestle with is that people don’t realize that empathy for those who are different shouldn’t just happen after a body has been gunned down and is no longer seen as a political threat.”
Then, I am beckoned into the room next door to sing someone special to sleep.
