#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Tonight in the yard

Asleep by 8:30 p.m., last night, I had hoped to wake feeling well and ready to head to my writer’s conference in New Bedford with energy and enthusiasm. Instead, the virus lingered. Headache, dizzy head, exhaustion, body aches. (Not Covid.) I got up and hoped to feel better soon, but no energy for a walk with Charlie. Had to somehow prepare my handout and get ready to go. I’ve not been to the Hollyhock Writer’s Conference in New Bedford before but was happy to be presenting a live, in-person workshop. And, driving down, I did finally start to feel a bit better. Better enough. And I gained energy and clarity of mind as I arrived. It turned out really well. I went to a couple of workshops, one before, one after, presenting, and my workshop on Writing From Your Photo Stream was well attended and went well. Whew. So fun to be interacting with writers I know and meeting new ones. Then, an impromptu dinner with Frank and friends after Franks’ tennis, outdoors in the cool evening air, and I was definitely feeling better. We had great fun talking. Home to realizing I still had not walked! Went, at dusk, with the Special One and Charlie into the yard and walked to the river, and slowly the stars began to appear in the sky. Connor, our friends’ son is taking care of my daughter’s kitten while she’s away, and he took the kayak out on the river this afternoon. He stopped into the kitchen and we chatted about what he had seen on the river. I was delighted when he mentioned the eggs! He saw the three snake eggs, and I was a bit surprised, because they’re not that obvious. I wrote about the eggs in one of the workshops I attended today. I must come up with a poem for Monday night. Tomorrow, I trust my energy will be fully back. It was challenging getting there today, but I’m so glad I went.
