Hooray for a little rain

The drought suffering plants. I spoke to some of them. A few gone that are gone for good. Some of the many hydrangeas managing to bloom. My potted geraniums crisped. Most can be saved. Oh, hearty geraniums! There is a light sprinkling from the sky as Charlie and I go out on our walk. The shrinking river. Dry bed of brook. No cardinal flower blooming in the black mud. I was very glad for the rain. A day of unpacking and clearing up clutter. House used to the max. I make a lot of progress and stay in a good mood and don’t get crabby at anyone. I revise an old poem for Monday night workshop. I think it’s better, but tonight in workshop I see that it’s not. I’ll sleep on it. Oh, my swim! A glorious return to Farm Pond under the clouds and a very light rain as it rained lightly all day. I thought I’d only go for a short one. Temperature was just right. I felt lots of energy and went for 40 minutes and this was the best welcome home. Fresh water homecoming.
