#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

A day of unplanned fun. We must exit the house early. Insulation is being blown into the renovated rooms. July sun and warmth. A play day. Charlie gets his walk; Suzi gets her drink in the brook. We are off, then, early, to Farm Pond with the Special One. Most of the day spent in water, where I am quite happy. I get my long swim in, of course, but also much splashing and play. My long swim is quite relaxing. Around the island. No sailboats. A green calm and stillness. In the water I remember my dream: a water dream. Swimming up a hill of deep water and waves and whales. Yikes! I made it though. As I swim around the island, I see that there is activity on my friend’s old property. I am over my resentment about all the changes they’ve made. This is the season of their home here. I am glad to know they are enjoying it. In the afternoon, Frank and I also make a quick trip to the tile store to pick out tile for our new master bathroom. It’s Frank’s vision we’re enacting. We seem some tile we like, but he is thinking about granite for a feature in the shower and the store for the granite is closed. This is how we end up for the second time at Farm Pond. More spontaneity to come: our dear friends sons have used the kayaks on the river and they come back from their journey just as we’re sitting down on the deck for a casual dinner. They join us! We laugh so much. I laugh so much. I am happy to laugh so much on this relaxing day. Later, Frank and I go out to our favorite homemade ice cream store to get ice cream. It’s not quite dusk. Heading home he pulls into the parking lot of a granite store. They have slabs of granite in the yard, and we have a look around. I find just the right piece––and he immediately agrees. Swimming, ice cream, dear friends, laughter, splashing, sunshine, and the green woods with Charlie.
