#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

It’s is 11:00 p.m. Paris time. A quarter moon lights the deep blue sky out of the wide open window of our flat above the roofs of the buildings. Oh! What an evening in Paris! Warm and a bit wet from some rain today. And, I am just about to write this with a pleasant slight whiff of air from the window when our doorbell rings. Hmmm. It’s quite late for us; it’s early Paris time. We open the door. A young French couple is standing there, speaking rapidly in French. Finally, I interrupt and ask them if they speak English! Of course they do. Well, they live in the flat below and are in desperate need of borrowing a pack of cards. Well, we have found some here, and share them, of course. We have had such a special day. I woke early with Frank; tired, but got up. We walked to a cafe and then parted for our various activities. I walked across the river and through the Place de la Concorde and into the Tuileries. A cloudy sky and a wonderful time for pictures. I sat by a fountain and meditated for 15 minutes. Meditating by a fountain is such a good practice—I felt the unconscious inspiration stirred by the upward motion of the spurt of water and came away with an idea about my poetry book. Over the bridge of the love locks back to the Left Bank, and walked along the Seine back to our flat. Breakfast. Then a quick trip to the Rue Cler for some lunch items to bring back. My Parisian friend, Veronique, came by for lunch and to see the flat. A lovely visit. Then, my daughter wanted to walk the walk I had taken by myself in the morning! Back to the Tuileries, except this time in a light summery rain that wet the streets and our heads, but it wasn’t unpleasant. This trip ended at a cafe, of course. And some relaxing time in the flat before another cafe for dinner. I have had my poem published today in Bracken. And some images accepted in other journals. The peonies are past their peak in the Paris gardens. I wonder how mine are in my garden at home.
