Apple Blossom Petals in the Swamp

Apple blossom all over the swamp. A more gorgeous day than yesterday, even––imagine. I take Charlie for a long walk and talk on the phone to my son, it was a great connection. Then, off to the pool for a swim with my daughter. Such a day filled with being outdoors. We go to a tractor festival in Acushnet, because someone in our circle of family is passionate about them. Sunshine, buttercups in a field, horses by a pond, goats in a barn, sheep in a pen, and so many many tractors showing off in the hot sun. There are booths of people selling yard sale stuff. I buy from a man named Lou a carton full of vegetable plants he has started indoors. Selling them for 50 cents a piece! Zucchini, tomatoes, peas, yellow squash, cucumbers. . . Lou told me a bit about himself; a grandfather, and his granddaughter has Krone’s disease and all the money is going to her. I shook his hand, paid more than he asked, and told him I’d think of him when the vegetables were harvested.
