Mating Season

First thing, before anyone else is up, I am outside in the wet grass and warm air with the Special One. There are so many birds to watch. I spot the bunny running into the brush. Then, after breakfast, my Charlie walk. May in bloom, starting with the trillium in my shade garden from the plants my friend left me last September. And the first lady slipper in bloom on Lady Slipper Way! And, along the trail, the wild dogwood is in blossom. Everywhere, the bright and cheerful fallen maple wings. And, along the Charles, on a birdbox, a mating scene I stop and watch. Such generativity all around. At home, I work on my poem about the pussy willows for workshop tomorrow. Am I making progress? I hope so. Warm enough to go to Farm Pond today, but I didn’t have a chance. Tomorrow perhaps; Saturday for certain.
