#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

When asked by CNN’s Pamela Brown on Sunday why she started posting these videos on Tik Tok, Shashenok said, “I feel it’s like my mission to show people how it looks in real life. That it’s real life, and I’m here.”

Planned to walk dogs then swim, but interrupted during walk in the woods. Change of plans. Special One home today and I will make myself available. It’s sunny, and not terribly warm, but it feels like it’s a good day to be outdoors as much as possible. In the garden where much clean-up is necessary. Sand box raked and freshened up. Special One points up to the sky. A red tailed hawk glides above us. My day is 100 percent active, in motion, non-stop. I have the energy for this. We food shop. We go to the playground. I think about where my parent’s ashes are buried in the cemetery just up the hill, and I miss them. I make dinner. The household members have given up meat for the time being. I make Mollie Katzen’s carrot and zucchini pancakes which pleases some but not all. I have not made them in years––decades, perhaps. My daughter, who comes to the kitchen after work, sees them cooking in the pan and is grateful someone has shopped and made dinner for her after a long day. I am happy, tonight, being that someone who made the day fun, helpful, worthwhile. How much I gained by giving.
