#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Out of the dark change
all day long rain falls and falls
as if it would never end.
~Excerpt from “Spring Storm,” William Carlos Williams
4:45 a.m. came early, but I got right up to take Frank to the airport. I wanted this time in the dark on the highway to Logan to chat and connect before his departure. I’m glad I did. Charlie came, and I got to the pool––first one in. Slowly the lanes filled with other early swimmers as I swam my mile with plenty of energy. Charlie’s patience reward was a long walk in the Medfield State woods. I didn’t dress warmly enough and my hair was wet from the pool but I wanted to have this time before driving home. The woods were quiet gray and wet and blah, but the brook was running fast and I found an image I liked of some lost glasses on the shallow, sandy bottom, and then another image of red lichen on a wet boulder. The highlight of the day, of course, was my second trip to Medfield State for a walk in the rain with the Special One in the afternoon. In his hat and jacket and boots. We played in the puddles, so many many puddles to slap and splash. By the time we got back to the car we were soaked and home fast to change and warm up. Well worth it. I had an acceptance of five photos in a journal today for an April issue. Glad these images found a home. Tomorrow, the vernal equinox!
