#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Sun, Fog, River Morning

Fog fills the yard. I walk with the dogs to the river, no signs of ice. No jacket necessary. I am thinking about the vegetable garden. I am fantasizing about planting. I am eager for buds on the young bushes and trees I planted last year, to see them coming to life, their first spring on this land. All the melt in the wetlands, and the mallards quacking up in their labored flight away from Charlie’s disturbance. I swim at the pool, a lovely long one. Two wonderful client writing sessions today; a reciprocal satisfaction. My week of scheduled activities ends and I leave my desk to go out into the very very warm afternoon, a spring day, truly. My dear friend will drop by, and we have no place to sit on the porch! I make several trips from the basement carrying up the cushions, dusting the outdoor furniture. A lovely visit, for us, and for the dogs in the yard. Super best part of the day: all three kids, plus my daughter’s boyfriend, me, frank The Special One have dinner together on the deck. I light candles. We have take-out. It’'s summery evening warm and the conversation is lively and positive. We each have something rewarding to share from our week. Suzi sits under the table. We linger. Frank lights the heater flames. Dusk. And then, the red moon rising over the trees.
