#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
The jungle’s green is the wild mind
of God.
~ Excerpt from “Reception,” by Jacob Shores Arquello
Day starts with a guided birding tour and ends with quite possibly the most spectacular sunset we’ve ever witnessed high up at an outdoor restaurant in the hills after a precarious ride up a dusty dirt road. It was dark at our descent; good driving by our friend. I am tired tonight from a very fine and joyful day. The kapok tree is becoming a favorite. I have yet to transcribe my list of birds. And also, we saw, in the river, the head of a baby crocodile—two huge eyes and a long snout just above the surface! My favorite bird sighting: the great ciscadee. Now, to sleep, to sleep.
