#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
It was almost noon before I could get for my swim or my walk. Frank left early for his meeting, and then tennis, and I was watching the special one so that my daughter could sleep. Before anyone was up, I sat by the fire and lit two candles at my table and wrote my weekly Aim for Astonishing prompt and sent it. I was so glad to have the quiet time to get this done. Then, I made pancakes and a big bowl of fruit to feed the hungry one. When I got to the pool, I had a strong, gratifying swim. And then took Charlie for a walk to the river to visit the ice. A melting in the rain. A misty, smoky river of ice going away. It was arm and refreshing, even so. I was pleased to have two poems from the letters and three ice images published today in Glint Literary Journal. Very happy with how the editor arranged the images with the poems which was her idea. And she used one of my images on the front page of the Issue. I love seeing them published, and I loved taking them. It’s wonderful to know that others find beauty or mystery or meaning in my images. Later in the day, tonight, I had a zoom with three close friends to ring in the new year. We meditated together and talked of our hopes and dreams for 2023. A quiet night with the fire and the rain outside and Frank beside me on the cusp of the new year, with the huge portion of our construction behind us.
