#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
“This is the solstice, the still point of the sun, its cusp and midnight, the year’s threshold and unlocking, where the past lets go of and becomes the future; the place of caught breath.”
― Margaret Atwood.
It’s a rare day that I do not venture out. Perhaps one a year. Today was the day. Started with a stomach bug. I’m sure it’s fleeting; but I did not really stir most of the day. I missed a solstice gathering I very much wanted to attend with dear friends. Instead of going outside to have a walk and a picture today, I decided to make a Winter Solstice collage of pictures I have taken in Riverwoods this fall. I am so grateful for what Margaret Atwood calls “the year’s threshold and unlocking.” A new beginning. I welcome it with gratitude for all of the fall’s experiences, insights, challenges, joys and lessons.
