#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
“There is no difference in principle between organic and psychic growth. As a plant produces its flower, so the psyche creates its symbols.”
― Carl Jung
Cold and fresh at the river. A blue sky appearing. Charlie happy trotting beside me. A short walk for us, to the river, to the wetlands. Day begins. And then I go off for a swim. I squeeze it in, and it fits, after all. I make ti to my Wednesday writers on time. Quite amazing the writing that his generated today from the prompt. A feeling of deep connection, and also festivity. A sense of the holiday coming, but it’s the writing we focus on. I have time in the afternoon to prepare for tomorrow night’s open mic feature for the Journal of Expressive Writing with poet Tate Walker. Most of what’s left of the day is spent with picking up and spending time with the special one. My favorite part: yoga, after dinner. I am the bridge, I am the bull dozer, the excavator, the crane. . . I am a worked out, for sure.

Praise for "The Trickster Riots"
"... [T]his book embodies what a treaty honored world might be - collaboration between parents and children, truthfulness, purpose, cultural grounding, humor and playfulness, intelligence, and continual respect for who and where we come from. Walker dedicates this to queer Indigenous youth and, make no mistake, these poems do not underestimate the high level of critical thinking and insight of our youth today."
