#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

In the woods with Charlie, near the river and the brook, I found the stillness and quiet I needed. It was a hectic wake up and start to the day. Workers here before Wave was even up; and suddenly they were everywhere. I was not expecting such progress today on the house, and by the end of the day, it was quite thrilling. A wonderful prelude to Thanksgiving. The hearthstones were laid in. The fireplace is finished! The doors got knobs and plastic removed so we can see outdoors. The tile banging has stopped; front hall tile removed and prepped for being put in next week. Laundry cabinets installed. Remarkable. In the late afternoon, when I returned from an appointment, right there in the middle of the dining room sat our new dining table next to the fireplace. We ate dinner by the roaring fire, in disbelief. Frank’s vision came true. I cook cheerfully in the kitchen, do dishes cheerfully in the kitchen. It’s cozy in this dark time of short days. The holiday is here. I am full of Thanksgiving. Tonight, played after dinner clean up with blocks and tractors, read many holiday picture books to the special one with great cheer.
