#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

So many happy hours today, a gift and a gift. Four deer prance across the clearing in front of the river while my daughter, the special one and I are in my room, early morning, before breakfast. I make pancakes for him; he eats three. I walk with Charlie, not as long as usual. More cold and bright. Ukrainian support group, a strong meeting of support, and after, Frank excitedly shows me the fireplace, lit for the first time. The hearths for each side arrive tomorrow to be installed. There’s a fierce banging in the front hall, the removal of tile, but I don’t mind. The fireplace, eleven months later, has been rebuilt into our dream fireplace. My dear friend who moved to San Francisco stops by to see the house renovation and we take a sweet walk around the property, to the river, just like old times. Then, off with my daughter and her boyfriend, Frank and my Ukrainian friend to dinner and Club Passim in Cambridge to listen to my daughter’s boyfriend father perform in the open mic. Fun to be out after so many months to Club Passim, live music, the lovely lights of Harvard Square and great conversation and closeness. My son is home for the holiday. Tomorrow, the dining room table arrives!
