#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Arlington, Mass. Ave, Red Hot Sunset
“In summer, the song sings itself.”
― William Carlos Williams
Day begins in the wetlands after rising early. Day ends in the city with a red hot sunset viewed on a walk to Spy Pond and then Mass. Ave. In between, tomatoes are picked and plants are watered and poems are revised, and e-mails are answered–although not enough! and a session with a client and lots of interruptions from the household and a renewing call with an old colleague, unexpected and heartening. For dinnertime, we drive into Arlington to my daughter’s apartment and eat Mexican food to go in her yard. Then a summery walk in the warm evening to the bike trail and sunset over Spy Pond. What spectacle! A red hot summer in the city sky. And red creeping into the wetlands, too.
