#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Late bloom in the vegetable garden

Today I feel too tired to walk or run. A rare day when I want to skip going out. But, I don’t. I take a four mile run in the woods. It’s a crunch one, so many of the leaves are down. Charlie comes. I am thinking over yesterday’s party and last night’s play lab. One thing I do today is try for a poem for tonight’s workshop. I feel fairly blank; creative energy spent. I eek out a rough draft, but I will take the night off. In the late afternoon it’s October damp. I kick through the leaves. After dark, Suzi asks at the door to go out. I find her, later, on the back deck, serenely reclining, looking across the yard under the bright light of the almost full moon.
