#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
First thing: the bright glitter of morning sun on the river. I have only time for a short walk with the dogs before going to the last section of the weekend poetry intensive. I have woken later than planned. And the heat! It slows us down. But that’s fine, because the brook is just a slight bit cool in the shade of the tree canopy. It’s drying, leaving the black floor exposed. These forget-me-nots remain and remain, blue bright and wholesome with their cheerful yellow centers. I am feeling tired and energized too. Strange. But, I am integrating, just inkling into big insights and change from all I have learned. The time spent has felt worth it. I am behind in e-mails, I have catching up to do. But I know all will get done. Fortunately, I have a poem ready, from the poems from letters project, to send for my poetry workshop tonight. Then, take a break in the afternoon for a nice swim with my daughters. I go out around the island, and for the first time all summer, the water feels too warm to me. The pond is holding the heat and I actually look forward to going home to take a cold shower to cool off! I feel August. The sense of summer being finite after all. Not feeling ready, of course, to let these hot hot days go. I was so pleased, tonight, to read a poem drafted by someone who read my Aim for Astonishing Weekly prompt yesterday. To share in her experience of what the prompt evoked; truth and beauty.
