#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Gulls, Longboat Key Beach, Late Afternoon

Up early, before dawn, to see some travelers off. And then, time to write my weekly Aim for Astonishing writing prompt before my walk. A quiet house. Then the sunrise and a warmer, less windy beach, and yet it’s cool enough for pants and a jacket. A dollar washes up at my feet. I find a pink feather of the roseate spoonbill in the green weeds. I am listening so carefully to the quiet shoosh of the surf and the gulls; it’s good for my heart and I feel peace. Sun shines through leaf washed ashore. It’s a lovely, calm Sunday. And another breakfast out, across the street, with the leftover loved ones. We sit outside by the canal where we rent the kayaks and it’s cool and calm and more deep conversation. In the late afternoon we’re on the beach and as I’m taking a picture of the paddle boarders the flock of gulls lifts off over my head in a wild burst. Tonight, we go to a concert at Fogartyville–again. Is this our 6th since we’ve been here? I have four photos hung in the Caribbean exhibit, from my trip to Martinique two years ago. My first photo exhibition. I am so so so sleepy tonight.
