#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Ahhhh, the birds, fumbling and fishing and bumbling and tumbling and splashing all around me; I feel as if I belong here. I see, among the white ibis, a young one, a juvenile, not white yet, not bright beaked yet, with a white splatch on its tail feather. A fine day, not a super early day, I sleep until it’s light and I’m delighted to do so, and take my solitary walk in sun. Well, the beach is busy. It’s February. And the shell artist has returned. Last year, I found her mermaid of shells. This year, her (or his?) shell spiral, art in sand to delight us all. A marvel. The snowy egret mostly wins my heart each day. Snowy egret, once endangered, almost wiped off the face of the earth because a bird is beautiful, made of feathers. All day is a work day. The kids go off without me, and I don’t mind; I love what I do. I run a webinar for the Guild and I prep for my own workshop online tonight, the second month of my six-month Aim for Astonishing photo inspired writing workshop. We meet tonight for two rich, rich writing hours; poignant and funny and enchanting and inspiring to see their photos, and the stories that emerge. Deep listening. Powerful experiences. Lovely craft. How will I sleep after this bounty of creative juice? And Frank trying to find his way home from Charlotte. Flights cancelled, more than one. He hopes to get home by after midnight. A long trek. Perhaps I’ll be awake to greet him. Yet I will wake early, to be with the birds, before I meet another flight when more of my special ones arrive into the “jewel-light” of this enchanting place.
